Welcome to Monticello Academy, where children achieve through academic excellence and personal growth. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality educational program for children, while fostering a professional environment for our esteemed teachers in the field of child development. Our program is meticulously designed to nurture and stimulate each child's growth, guided by the expertise and commitment of our experienced teachers.
At Monticello Academy, we recognize that every child is unique and special in their own way. We understand that children develop at their own pace, much like little “scientists” who actively explore their world through trial and error. We believe that children learn best when they are given choices and opportunities to interact with their surroundings, rather than through traditional didactic teaching.
We offer an environment where children can both play and learn, recognizing that play is a powerful vehicle for learning. Through play, children bring their ideas to life, learn to express themselves, solve problems, experiment with new concepts, create from their imagination, and celebrate their successes. Most importantly, play fosters creativity and imagination.
The Monroe Campus stands out with its smaller, family-oriented environment, providing a close-knit and supportive atmosphere for students and their families. Our center is designed to be a safe, comfortable, nurturing, and stimulating space where children can explore and develop with confidence. We provide hands-on experiences across a developmentally appropriate curriculum, encouraging curiosity and independence as children actively engage with their environment.
Your administrators, Ms. Celena Jhun and Ms. Darlene Soltero have each accomplished over two decades of experience in their roles at Monticello Academy. They work closely with their teachers to ensure that the school continues to uphold its philosophy. As both educators and mothers, they are deeply committed to maintaining the school’s values and fostering a close-knit, supportive environment where both teachers and children can thrive and create lasting memories together.
Our Big Builders enrichment program introduces pre-school children to scientific concepts through hands-on experiential learning. Using flexible pieces to assemble 3D models, the Big Builders course aims to enhance motor skills, challenging the children gradually. This course will provide a hands-on educational experience while teaching children technical and communication skills. New models are introduced in each session.
The children are introduced to a variety of sports, such as basketball, soccer, baseball, and hockey. Classes are offered between September – April. This class is once a week for 30 minutes.
Learn-by-doing art club programs meet once a week throughout the year. Students do different art projects in each session. All completed art pieces are brought home on the last day of the class.
Join Monticello Academy (Monroe Campus) Mandarin Chinese program and immerse you in the Chinese language and culture. Our experienced and qualified main teacher, Ms. Fei Lin, who received her Master of Arts in Chinese Teaching from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts in Voice from Xi’an Conservatory of Music, will guide students through the basics of speaking, reading, and writing Simplified Chinese, and introduce them to Chinese culture.
Music & Movement is the gateway to unlocking children’s creativity, self-expression, cognitive, and physical development. We are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to share our love of music and
look forward to starting this exciting journey with you and your child!
