Fine Arts
Yearlong: Semesters 1 and 2
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Prerequisites and Enrollment Criteria
None
Letter grade (i.e. A, B, C, D, F scale)
This class’ objective is to provide a safe environment for students to express themselves creatively through Fine Art projects. They will develop new artistic skills, by using a variety of art mediums. (Watercolor, clay, oil paints, charcoal, graphite, oil pastels, and other supplies.) Their imaginations, their critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be an essential part of our creative process. While it is an art class, our projects will often connect to their core subjects (history, science, math, English, and social and cultural events). Our Art class will encourage them to become more insightful and conscientious citizens. Art is often an individual artform where students will process life by expressing their point of view and sharing their abilities and unique art style. Students will become more compassionate and see the connections they have with others in our class and our communities.
